Badges

What they are, and what they mean

Badges are our way of rewarding members for participating in hookemnow.com.

Members earn badges every time they submit a catch or a photo, or make a comment.

The more badges members receive, the more privileges they earn and the more things they can do on the site.

Submission Badges

This badge is awarded every time a member sends a catch.

This badge is awarded every time a member sends a photo.

This badge is awarded every time a member adds a comment.

As members earn more badges for their catches, photos and comments, they earn new Member Badges and can do more things.

Member Badges

This badge is awarded when members submit their first catch, photo or comment. With the Silver Member badge, members can vote in polls and contests.

This badge is awarded when members have sent 5 catches or photos, or made 10 comments. Sterling Members can add Forum Topics, as well as vote in polls and contests.

This badge is awarded when members have sent at least 15 catches or photos, or made 30 comments. Gold Members can add Alerts, as well as add Forum Topics and vote in polls and contests.

This badge is awarded when members have sent at least 30 catches or photos, or made 60 comments. Diamond Members can start their own blog at hookemnow.com, as well as add Alerts and Forum topics, and vote in polls and contests.

Special Badges

This Commodore Badge is awarded to members who submit the first catch from a lake.

This Blue Ribbon Badge is awarded to members who win the Photo of the Month contest by getting the most votes from other members.

All a member's badges are displayed on each member's My Page. Additionally, the Member Badge is displayed whenever they make a comment.

One caveat: catches, photos and comments must be accepted as germane by the site administrator to qualify for badges. We don't want, and won't accept, photos of members' dogs or girlfriends, for instance, nor comments that are offensive or repetitive.
